DIRECTOR STATEMENT
I created 'Incandescence' in response to the prevalent misrepresentation of the female experience in the realm of art. Drawing inspiration from Ruby's journey towards reconciling pain and joy, I am moved by how her story transcends our apparent differences. Amidst the immersive underwater cenotes, both Ruby and I unearthed facets of our identities, fostering a profound connection built on mutual trust.
Over my artistic journey, I've come to realize that genuine representation emerges from meaningful connection rather than mere observation. I’ve wanted to share all of the layers of this unending quest to understand both myself, and others through art. This is what propelled me into film.
